2 Great Alternatives To Dogs and Cats

Don’t Have Enough Room For A Dog Or Cat? It’s Ok We Have You Covered

I feel if anyone is qualified to write this blog it would be me. I have at least 20 different species of exotic fish, a few frogs, and 3 dogs. The maintenance of the 3 dogs is insanely more than the almost self-reliant fish and frogs.

2. Frog Cage

Maintenance Level 6/10 – The maintenance level differs between species, always make sure to feed your frog the right thing by asking your local pet store. The types of frogs I care for only require me to drop a few crickets in front of the frog for feeding each day. For the frog’s water, I have a dish that I replace when I notice the water inside gets a little foggy.

Playfulness 3/10– To acutely “play” with your frog you need to be very careful that it does not hop away, never to be found again. Make sure you are in an enclosed area that

Setup 3/10– My favorite part of getting a new pet is setting up the tank or cage. Ask your local pet store for what exact materials to get for your species of frogs, but I used regular mulch for the cage’s substrate. Some frogs require special kinds of lights though out the day, but mine are content with the natural light.

What I Needed To Set Up Mine

1. Fish

Maintenance Level 4/10 -To own a fish tank it requires a hard initial set up, but after that, the maintenance gets a little easier.  The fish tank will need regular water changes. You will need to feed the fish once or twice a day. A fish tank is an amazing showpiece for any kind of living arrangement.

Playfulness -5/10 -This one is pretty self-explanatory, but I will tell you why. Touching or “playing” with your fish can give the fish terrible diseases that will eventually kill it. This is only true with less hardy and fragile fish. If you really want a fish to play with. Ask your fish store owner what is the hardiest fish that is immune to most diseases.

Setup 8/10 -The setup of a fish tank can we extremely easy or it can be extremely hard. The amount of work that you put into the initial set up of your fish tank definitely reflects how pretty your fish tank is. First, you need to pick out how big you want your fish tank to be. Traditional fish tank sizes come in 10, 20, 25, 30, 45, 55, 60 gallons. I recommend starting with a 10 or 20-gallon tank. Second, you need to decorate your tank. There are many things to take into account when picking decorations. You need to pick gravel or sand, rocks or wood or fake plants and real plants. The possibilities of decorating your tank are endless. The last thing you need to consider is what fish you want to stock your tank with. I recommend looking through a book and picking out fish that look cool, and that will get along with the other fish you pick. I will link on of my favorites books with everything else.
